How To Use An Image As A Folder Background For Pendrive And Local Disk

Adding an image on a folder background is not a complicated work. In this post I will give out the code to do so. First you have to copy this code and paste it on a notepad

[ExtShellFolderViews]

{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}={BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}

{5984FFE0-28D4-11CF-AE66-08002B2E1262}={5984FFE0-28D4-11CF-AE66-08002B2E1262}

[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC]

Attributes=1

IconArea_Image=background/1.jpg

IconArea_Text=0xblack

at the ICONAREA_IMAGE

what you have to do is copy your image from your computer local disk and paste it on the particular folder or pendrive. For example in a pendrive, the image is 1.jpg then at the root directory of the pendrive I recommend you to create a folder name as [background] and move your image 1.jpg into it. Then code will be

[ExtShellFolderViews]

{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}={BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}

{5984FFE0-28D4-11CF-AE66-08002B2E1262}={5984FFE0-28D4-11CF-AE66-08002B2E1262}

[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]

Attributes=1

IconArea_Image = background\1.jpg

IconArea_Text = 0xblack

at the ICONAREA_TEXT
the 0x you cannot change it, the only thing that can be change is black. For example you want the text color to be blue then you may find the code for blue color or just simply change the Iconarea_Image = 0xblue.

The code will be

[ExtShellFolderViews]

{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}={BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}

{5984FFE0-28D4-11CF-AE66-08002B2E1262}={5984FFE0-28D4-11CF-AE66-08002B2E1262}

[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]

Attributes=1

IconArea_Image = background\1.jpg

IconArea_Text = 0xblue

then save the notepad as desktop.ini and place it on your pendrive root directory.

You have DONE. Please refresh the folder or just close it and reopen it.

For some cases, friends, family members, boss , co-worker may want to logon to your computer system but they don't know your password. If they didn't have any special computing skill, they will type the password by guessing it. Lets say your password to login your windows xp is your birth date (1.1.01) your close friend, bos, family members and co-worker may know your birthday and they enter it can success to logon to your computer system. Now I am going to show you how to prevent this happen.

1 . First click start on the desktop toolbar or simply press windows key on the keyboard.

2. click run and type in secpol.msc

3. A Local Security Settings dialog box appear.

4. Click on the ACCOUNT POLICIES and follow by the ACCOUNT LOCKOUT POLICIES

5. First of all, you must set ACCOUNT LOCKOUT THRESHOLD by double click it and set 3(recommended) for the "invalid logon attempts". This action will lockout the computer system after 3 times of entering invalid password. The default logout duration is 30 minutes. That means in 30 minutes time just after the wrong password input, even the correct password entered the computer system will not logon. Must wait until 30minutes.

6. You may set the ACCOUNT LOCKOUT DURATION by double click it. (i recommand for about 10-15 minutes). Because sometimes we may enter wrong password or wrong type the password on the keyboard. So it can save time time for not waiting so long. If you just want to try it out, you set maybe 3minutes and have a try.

7. Click close at the top corner to exit.

How to bypass the user's password for XP

In Windows XP , we can bypass the password that user set to logon to the computer. I am not teaching how to hack in to someone computers, just to share how to logon to a computer without having to know the password. Example a computer which you set a password but after sometimes you have forget it, maybe for some user will reformat the pc and some may ask those computer technician to solve the problem by paying 40 to 50 dollars. Now you can save your time and money.

1. First when you really can't login to the computer from the logon screen,on the keyboard press Ctrl + Alt + Del for two times.

2. A dialog box appear and ask user to key in username and password.

3. key in administrator as the username and leave the password blank.

4. you may login to the computer if the computer didn't have any changes on the administrator account. Most people just setup an account by setting their name as the profile and set a password. Even when you see at the user accounts your profile was set as computer administrator you can use the above method to login it. But if the user account itself name as "administrator" then the above method doesn't work.

5. This method only work in Windows XP, Windows Vista unable to use this method to bypass the user's password.

Don't ask me why there is an administrator account in XP. I have no idea for that.

Try it out, it works on most windows xp system. But I am not guaranty 100 % works. But for me, it works all the time.
