Free Audio and Video Codec

Audio codec and Video codec is a device or program capable of encoding and/or decoding a digital data stream or signal. The word codec may be a combination of any of the following: 'compressor-decompressor', 'coder-decoder', or 'compression/decompression algorithm'.

Without the codec some digital files cannot be play by the computer system. From example avi , divx, rmvb and etc.

I recommend Storm Codec and K-Lite Codec. Personally I am using Storm Codec. Storm Codec consists of most common audio and video codec that I need. It uses Windows Media Player Classic to play the video files. With this player, everytime I play the video files it run smoothly. For example , I always use to play RMVB & RM files using Windows Media Player Classic it run smother that Real Player.
